« European Citizen Card »

Oberthur Technologies, a global leader in the delivery of high security solutions to the government ID market, delivers on august 21st 2008 the first prototypes of the « European Citizen card » to ANTS, French national agency for secure documents in France.

ANTS and Gixel[1] worked closely together to define a platform dedicated to eServices projects (health, eID, eAdministration, eGov…) and meet the expectations of the European economic market of free trade.

The future national identity card offers two kinds of services to the holder: to travel easily in the EU and to have access online administration. This card is compliant with the “European Citizen Card” and provides identification, authentication and digital signature functions with a high level of security. 

Oberthur Technologies delivers a long lasting bi-applicative solution, IAS ECC[2] and ICAO-EAC[3] v 1.11, meeting the expectations of all the parties involved.
